Educational Tours & Jam/Jelly Making Classes

Tours:  1 1/2 hour tours divided into 10 minute stations/topics tailored to the age range or type of group. We will taste jelly and fresh or frozen berries (depending on the time of year) at the end.

Topics will vary a little with the time of year and what is going on at the farm, but basically the berries, the bees, and the bugs (good and bad) will always be topics. Pruning, picking, planting, irrigation, food safety regulations and issues, the high tunnel, and equipment are all possible topics. Please let us know if your group has a particular interest.

Groups : $4 / person
Families $10 / family, 4 family minimum
Schools:  $4 / person, supervising adults and teachers no charge

Jam/Jelly Making Classes 
    *Includes all supplies and fruit (blackberry).  Participant will take home 1 batch of jam and 1 batch of jelly.  Approximately 2 hour process.  
    *By appointment:  e-mail on the contact tab on the main menu and we'll set up a time that works for you and us

Price:  $75 / 1 person to make 1 batch of jam and one batch of jelly.  Additional family members, $15 each.  (For example:  One mother and one daughter together, make 1 batch of jam and 1 batch of jelly for $90.  The additional $15 does not cover a second batch.  One mother and 2 kids making one batch of jam and one batch of jelly would be $105.) 

General canning/freezing class

     If you would like to learn to can tomatoes or put up green beans, but have no equipment or know how, we can teach you.  Contact us thru the info on the contact tab, and we'll set up a time that works for you and us.  We have all the supplies, and it will be done in our certified kitchen.  We can do a product provided session or you bring product session.
